Here’s some new promo for Camp Ta Kum Ta’s benefit/fundraiser on August 13. Camp Ta Kum Ta is locally based, independent and self-sustaining, and financed completely through private donations. We’re honored to be helping out on this year’s Lobster Bake and are looking forward to a great night. We’d love to see you all there, ticket info is available here. Come on out, eat some lobster, help local kids defeat cancer, watch the sunset over Lake Champlain, and dance to the GFB!
May 7 has all the elements of a memorable night in Burlington as your hometown heroes welcome two special guests to the stage at Nectar’s. Dr. Dave Demsey will look in on Brian and Aaron, two of his former music students, from William Paterson and University of Maine respectively, to make sure they’ve been practicing their II-V7’s and keeping up with sight reading. Aaron still can’t play ‘Donna Lee’ (or read, let alone sight-read)…oh well, some things may never change. But when it comes to syncopated D9 chords, look out Dr. D! Just kidding, Dave is a world class sax guy; we know he is more than up to the challenge…
Through a scheduling mix up (musicians lead surprisingly complicated lives) the GFB is fortunate to have not one but two soul brothers on guitar as young lion Max Bronstein-Paritz joins Double D on stage. Hey, James Brown had two guitars in his band, so be prepared for for some stone cold funky stuff.
Leave the mud boots at home and come on down and join us!
